The back to school season is in full swing and all across the country boys and girls are gearing up for another year of learning. We haven’t officially started school where we live, we have about a week to go, but we’ve been getting things prepared and are excited for the upcoming year.

We have all the school supplies purchased and have gotten some new clothes and shoes. I’ll probably make one last trip to the store this week and pick up a couple more fall outfits.

Through the rest of August when I shop at JcPenney for back to school clothes (or for anything else) I can also help support the Boys and Girls Club of America just by rounding up at the register. You can join jcp Cares and round up at the register too and benefit a great cause.

“For more than 150 years, Boys & Girls Clubs of America have been helping kids reach their full potential as productive, caring, responsible citizens. Through a wide range of programs including arts, education, sports and leadership, young people are given the opportunity to be involved in life-enhancing experiences.”

Boys and Girls Club of America (BGCA) has also partnered with Disney to launch the Tools for Back to School initiative. It features a pop-quiz style game, where supplies are donated to BGCA for every correct answer you score! You can play here: http://www.bgca.org/backtoschool/Pages/Landing.aspx, just look for the ‘Play Now’ button in the box between the two kids on the page.

BGCA offers different educational content and tip sheets for parents to download and utilize too. You can find them on the left hand side of the BGCA site under the ‘Get Ready’ header, it looks like this:

One of the tips on the Helping Children set Goals sheet that I love is to create a goal corner on your refrigerator or family bulletin board and post a current goal for each member of the family. Some great tips! I’ll definitely be checking out the Time Management Tips with school about to start and having to take one kid one place plus different activities for the other two…

It’s going to be a busy school year!

I wrote this review while participating in a blog tour by Mom Central Consulting on behalf of Boys and Girls Club. I received a promotional item to thank me for taking the time to participate.
