Getting new toothbrushes is a big deal at our house. My girls have actually started enjoying brushing now that they know they get to use fun toothbrushes. Yes, like it now, they do (my Yoda impression).

In a recent survey of dentists, nearly all dentists surveyed (99 percent) agreed that making brushing fun can help establish healthy dental habits. And nearly 90 percent of dentists surveyed confirmed that their pediatric patients do not brush for the proper amount of time.
GUM Brand toothbrushes have definitely made brushing more fun for my girls. They’ve already been using the GUM Crayola toothbrushes and loving it. And I love that they’re brushing longer and not fighting me on having to brush their teeth.

My oldest daughter who’s almost 7 was super excited to get the GUM Star Wars toothbrushes. Even though my girls have never seen the movie Star Wars they see the characters on products like the yogurt they eat and have actually met a couple of the characters at a family fun day carnival a couple years ago.

- The GUM Star Wars Manual Toothbrush twinpack comes in four unique characters- Anakin Skywalker, Yoda, Darth Vader and Clone Captain Rex. It has a unique thumb grip for better control and soft bristles designed for effective plaque removal.
- The GUM Star Wars Lightsaber Toothbrush is a lightsaber shaped toothbrush that comes in three character designs- Anakin Skywalker, Yoda and Darth Vader. When you turn the lightsaber on (ie. push the button on the toothbrush handle), LED lights flash for 60 seconds in either blue, green or red. It has soft bristles with interdental cut to reach between teeth.

- The GUM Star Wars Power Toothbrush is battery-operated and available in two characters- Darth Vader and Clone Captain Rex. It has ultra-soft oscillating bristles that massage gums and has a built in suction cup to reduce counter clutter. Even my husband thought this one was cool.
I really think when you make brushing fun it encourages your child to want to brush. And the fun characters and light-up brushes help your child brush longer and using a power toothbrush can help them brush more effectively.

Wow, having that LED light is a great idea! It would definitely work as a good timer to know how long to brush for.
