When you hear the word ‘costume’, most people immediately think Halloween.  But costumes can be worn for so much more than just one day out of the year, especially for young kids that like to play dress-up.  I have 3 girls and their dress-up box is opened and used just about every day.

Pretend and role play is actually really good for a child’s imagination and creativity and also builds empathy and social and emotional development.  You can use costumes for a fun themed birthday party and other holidays too.

Halloweencostume.com has a ton of great kids costumes to choose from for both boys and girls.  They also have adult and pet costumes so no one in the family is left out!

I was sent the Strawberry Shortcake costume for my girls and it was absolutely perfect.  My 3 year old is really into anything Strawberry Shortcake right now and loves watching the show on tv.  I actually gave it to her as one of her presents on Christmas morning and she wanted to put in on immediately.

The Strawberry Shortcake costume includes the following:

  • dress
  • stockings
  • hat

You can also accessorize with a Strawberry Shortcake bag and wig.  The size Small fit my 3 (almost 4) year old really good.  It’s also available in toddler or medium size.  The stockings were a little long and baggy in the ankle but not enough to be a bother, and the dress, hat and purse were ‘berry’ adorable!

My daughter loves dressing up as her favorite character and I can absolutely see a Blueberry Muffin costume in our near future.
